The Junior League of Fort Collins
The Junior League of Fort Collins is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.  Our purpose is exclusively educational and charitable, focused on creating opportunities for women and children to thrive!

Through our annual fundraising efforts such as Colorado Gives Day and our annual Garden Tour the Junior League of Fort Collins is able to make the following impact on the community each year:

• Provide clothing appropriate for school or work for more than 200 women at no cost to them through the Junior League of Fort Collins Career Closet
• Deliver more than 100,000 snacks to disadvantaged kids through our Hunger Initiative partnership with the Food Bank of Larimer County
• Distribute nearly 1000 tickets to shows at the Lincoln Center in Fort Collins to children and families in need through our Imagination Series program
• Contribute hundreds of hours to the local community through Done-in-a-Day projects with area nonprofit organizations

While each of our members comes from a background, we share a common motivation to give back to the community.  We identify local issues, create projects to impact those who need help and use our collective skills, partnerships and collaborations to implement those projects.

We are the Junior League of Fort Collins.  Together, we are making a difference for children and families in our community.  Join us!

History
The Junior League of Fort Collins evolved from the Fort Collins Junior Women’s Club.  Chartered in 1964, the Fort Collins Junior Women’s Club was a member of the Colorado Federation of Women’s Clubs and the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, an international nonprofit volunteer women’s organization.

In 1984, the Fort Collins Junior Women’s Club resigned from the General Federation of Women’s Clubs and began the two-year transition period to the Association of Junior Leagues International.

The Junior League of Fort Collins was accepted into the Association of Junior Leagues International in April 1986, as the 266^th League.

While the name and international affiliation of the Junior League of Fort Collins has shifted over the years, our commitment to volunteerism and dedication to the community remains steadfast.

Since its founding in 1901 by social activist Mary Harriman, The Junior League has evolved into one of the oldest, largest and most effective women’s volunteer organizations in the world, encompassing 150,000 women in 291 Leagues in four countries.

Our mandate has not wavered: to develop exceptionally qualified civic leaders who collaborate with community partners to identify a community’s most urgent needs and address them with meaningful and relevant programs and initiatives that not only improve lives, but also change the way people think. This important work has won us dedicated community and corporate partners and loyal supporters for more than 114 years, as well as an enduring legacy as the foremost provider of civic leadership training for women.
