The Junior League of Fort Collins and their Gold Level sponsor, Nutrien, are proud to announce the second annual Women’s Conference to take place in beautiful downtown Loveland Colorado. This years theme “Realize your Potential” aims to bring together women from all over the Northern Colorado community for a day of leadership, education, wellness, and networking. During the conference we will feature six in-person speakers as well as four panelists who will discuss a variety of topics that will aim to empower women through education and experience. The conference doesn’t end there though, an inspiring array of additional, pre-recorded speakers will be available for digital download after the event to anyone who may prefer a more flexible viewing experience. All attendees, both in person and online, will have the option to view all speaker presentations, however, in-person attendees will have the opportunity to interact and network with our in-person speakers, panelists, and one another! In-person attendance also includes a light breakfast, refreshments throughout the day, and an amazing lunch.

Meet our Presenters:
Anne Folk is the Vice President of Human Resources for Nutrien Ag Solutions, the largest agricultural retailer in North America based in Loveland, CO. In this role, Anne oversees the HR function for her business and is a member of the HR leadership team for the corporation. A member of the Ag Solutions Leadership Team, Anne defines and deploys the HR strategy across North America, Australia and Latin America ensuring alignment with the business strategy. She leads the talent management process and outcomes for the retail business. As a global leader, Anne is responsible for compensation, recognition, hiring, retention, organization development, labor relations and cost management throughout the business.
Anne started her career in HR with Honeywell as an intern in the HR early career program in 2000. During her 18-year tenure with the company she worked in multiple industries and lived across the world leading change and growth. Her last role with them was as a global leader for a $10B building controls business.
Fort Collins, CO is the current home for Anne, and her family. Anne was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, earned her bachelor’s degree in English from University of Illinois and Masters in HR from University of Minnesota. She has been married for 13 years to Ben, an educator and entrepreneur, and together they have 2 sons Ulysses and Malcolm.
Katy Iengo (she/her) has a wide array of experience that has influenced her business mission of creating an inclusive space where every birthing person will be seen, honored, and respected.
She and her team at Peaceful Birth Company believe that changing the world begins by changing how people birth. We can achieve that change with quality education, birth justice, and advocacy.
Katy is honored to support people through one of the most pivotal experiences of their lives, ensuring that they maintain their power and walk away from the experience feeling joyful and proud.
Saja Butler is a Soul Folk musician living in Fort Collins, CO.
She is the proud owner of Urban Monk Studios, a music instruction studio in Fort Collins, where she teaches claw hammer pickin’ Banjo, Guitar, Ukulele, Voice, Piano, and Adult Performance and Jam classes since 2007.
Her studio was recently recognized as one of the top studios for lessons in Northern Colorado. Classically trained on clarinet, she originally hails from the South where she picked up the banjo 22 years ago. She has honed her own soulful picking and rolls quite unlike you have ever seen. Saja is also a member of the up and coming all girl string band, Lois and the Lantern.
She is excited to bring The gift of Music to Northern Colorado and around the world through lessons, classes and workshops. Music is a healing gift she is happy to teach and play.
Colleen Nelson is a licensed therapist, coach and trauma expert on a mission to help women access the next level of healing, growth and expansion in their lives by embracing a holistic, integrative approach to mental, emotional and spiritual wellness.
After working with hundreds of clients in private practice over the past decade Colleen found herself frustrated by the limitations of traditional therapy, and recognized the need to go deeper with women in order to help them
access and embody the kind of true growth and transformation they were looking for.
Now she coaches women all around the world in learning how to step into their full power and potential, recognize and rewire their conditioned thought patterns, reconnect to their innate body wisdom, and awaken their feminine magnetism in order to call in the next level life they desire.

Dr. Meghan is a Colorado native who loves wildflowers, blueberries, snow angels, and campfire cook-outs with her hubs and baby boy. She graduated cum laude from Southern California University of Health Sciences as a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and has her Master’s of Science in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the University of Western States. Dr. Meghan has worked with patients of all ages, from only a few days old to those who’ve lived over a century! She utilizes acupuncture, herbal medicine, and nutritional therapy for mental wellness, women’s health, autoimmunity, cosmetic concerns, and more. Dr. Meghan’s graduate research centered around the use of acupuncture for PTSD and nutrition for autoimmune disease. She has advanced training in traditional Chinese Medicine pulse diagnosis and loves helping her patients find sustainable solutions for their health concerns. Dr. Meghan found acupuncture while in undergrad at CSU in Fort Collins when she was struggling with autoimmune disease herself. In an act of desperation, she tried acupuncture, and as you can guess, it changed her health, her career, and her life.
Dr. Meghan is currently a sitting board member with the Acupuncture Association of Colorado.
Kristin Candella has served as Executive Director & CEO of Habitat for Humanity since 2012 and brings has over 20 years of non-profit management experience, including 17 years working with Habitat for Humanity which builds homes, communities, and hope.
She currently serves on the Board of Impact Development Fund and is a member of Rotary.
Kristin holds a BA & MA in Political Science from Colorado State University and San Francisco State University respectively.
She received the CFRE credential (Certified Fundraising Executive) and has additional training from the Harvard Business School, Georgetown University, Indiana School of Philanthropy, HUD, the Colorado Division of Housing, the Daniels School of Business, and the Disney Institute.
She has a son and a daughter (13 and 11) and she loves spending time with them and seeing them grow. They like to watch movies, play games, boat, swim, travel and explore and they cannot wait to lift a hammer and volunteer for Habitat global builds as soon as they are of age.
Lauren Galbate is a licensed Realtor® in Fort Collins, CO & serves home Buyers & Sellers all over the state of Colorado. She has been nominated for Rookie of the Year by the Fort Collins Board of Realtors & is ranked #22 in the state of Colorado for being a top Real Estate Agent on social media.
Lauren is passionate about educating home buyers on the benefits of owning real estate, & how to build wealth through real estate investments. After purchasing her own home, she realized how much of a gap in education there was for first time home buyers. This experience led to her mission of making sure all her friends & clients are educated in the home buying process. She is also a Certified Home Staging Expert® and loves working with home Sellers to help get their home ready to sell by using proven techniques that make their home look it’s best & get them top dollar for their home.
Lauren started her career in real estate in 2019 after years of trying to find the right fit in the digital marketing industry. She began exploring the idea of getting her real estate license to assist her dad, Todd Galbate, with his growing business. With a digital marketing background & experience in property management, Lauren decided that working as Todd’s partner was the best way for her to use all her learned skills & pursue her passion in helping people achieve their real estate goals. She joined her dad as his real estate partner & became “The Galbate Team”, a father/daughter real estate team in Fort Collins.
Lauren is driven to build her business differently through modern methods of marketing & connecting with her sphere on a deeper level to build more meaningful connections. She considers her clients to be “great friends”.
Lauren currently lives in Windsor, CO but is building her future family home with her fiancé in Fort Collins where she grew up. Dr. Elise Rigney, D.C. was one of the first Fort Collins chiropractors to specialize in pediatric and prenatal care. She is a wellness expert and uses a “whole person approach” – looking for underlying causes of any disturbance or disruption and implementing whatever interventions and lifestyle adjustments are needed to optimize the conditions for normal function. Using this unique approach, Dr. Elise is able to help others accelerate and/or maintain their journey to good health.
Dr. Elise believes you can make an incredible difference in the lives of children by examining their spine at birth for subluxation. That is why she has received an immense amount of pediatric training through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and is beginning prenatal research through the National Institute of Health. She is also Webster Certified through the ICPA’s Executive Director, Dr. Jeanne Ohm.
Louise Cutler is a Fort Collins based creationist, artist, vocalist, writer and sculptor. Her work is motivated by her desire to create beauty that cultivates truth, peace and tranquility. She considers one’s art an extension of one’s life.
She was selected as one of Art Business News’ Top Emerging Artists. Her work has been featured in ABN, Art World, Edge Of Faith Magazine and Beyond Words Magazine. Ms. Cutler’s work recently has shown at the Royal Academy of Arts In London England Summer exhibition, The Museum of Science and industry “Black Creativity”, The DuSable Museum Of African American History, Museum Of Arts in Fort Collins, Sculpture In The Park and countless places around the country. Ms. Cutler’s latest projects include, being the featured Artist for CSU, Social Injustice For The Arts Program, curating the first Exhibition of Artist of Black/African American descent, “A Culture Preserved In The Black Experience.” for the Museum Of Arts, happening this July 2022. She is also the founder and creator of the Beauty Of Blackness fine Art Show/Festival held in Fort Collins during Labor Day weekend in Sept 2022.

Julia Tompkins is the founder and owner of Light and Liv, a local Yoga studio coming 2022. She is a Colorado native and Colorado State University graduate, mother of two and has been working in the health and fitness industry for nearly two decades. She is not only a certified Yoga teacher, but also holds national licenses for personal training and group exercise instructor. With her plethora of certifications and studies it allows Julia to have great diversity and knowledge in many facets of movement, accompanied with a strong passion to help others find their wholeness. Yoga is embedded within her own being; it has deepened her perspective of life and has allowed her to find peace amongst the noise. Julia believes Yoga is unique to everyone, that there isn’t one way or one particular right way. Yoga is acknowledging all parts of self and finding the path that serves you. Julia’s mission is to create a space for people to find their Yoga. A place where people can rest in themselves and find peace in their hearts. She believes we all have everything inside of us and is grateful to be a conduit in witnessing others see their truest potential.

Erika joined USA Cycling as the Chief Marketing Officer in December of 2021, after a successful growth-focused leadership role at U.S. Figure Skating and an early career in museum marketing and administration. During her tenure at U.S. Figure Skating, Erika was responsible for growing the sport of figure skating in the United States, leading the national governing body for the Olympic sport to a record-breaking 200,000 members in 2019, contributing to a 21% increase in membership dues and admissions revenue over a 2-year period. Erika received her undergraduate degree in English & Art History from the University of New Hampshire, and her MBA from the Peter T. Paul College of Business & Economics at the University of New Hampshire. Erika is a Northern Colorado native but has lived in Hawaii, New Hampshire, and England.
I earned my undergraduate degree (BS) in Finance and Political Science from the University of Dayton and then, with two offer letters in hand, I had to choose between a Peace Corps assignment, and business school. Business school won out, and I earned my Master’s degree in International Business Studies from the University of South Carolina. My career evolution has included roles in sales, operations and management in the construction equipment and coffee retail industries. Finally figuring out how to marry my training and background with my life’s purpose, I became Executive Director at Education & Life Training Center in 2007. I have been shaking things up in the realm of poverty alleviation and workforce development ever since, and was fortunate to join Team Awesome at Project Self-Sufficiency in January 2015.The daughter of an amazing single mom, my beliefs and values are firmly rooted in the concept of selfpower. Today, I get to use my business leader’s brain and experience and my social worker’s heart to support Team Awesome in maximizing the full human potential of our families by realizing their own selfpower. It does not get much better!
Emily Ambrose (she/hers), of Engage Coaching & Consulting, LLC and Colorado State University, has dedicated over 15 years of her professional career and personal life to leadership development, training, facilitation, diversity, inclusion, and equity work. With a passion for making the sometimes taboo topics accessible and relatable to all, Emily has worked closely with non-profits, outdoor industry companies, and presented at conferences on how to shift work culture and infuse diversity, equity, and inclusion into the workplace, including as a raft guide in the Grand Canyon and as a member of the A-DASH Collaborative. Specifically focused on issues around the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer community (LGBTQ), Emily has extensive experience with co-creating Safe Zone workshops and presenting on sexuality and gender identity. Other passion areas include sexism and sexual harassment, deconstructing racial bias, understanding white supremacy culture, and recognizing the interwoven nature of oppression. She likes to hang out with her four fur babies, her partner, and salsa dance!

Overview: We move through the world with a variety of identities – known and unbeknownst to us. Through understanding how our identities overlay with each other, we begin to understand how society responds to us – and how that may differ based on how people perceive us. The session seeks to understand the foundational work of Kimberlé Crenshaw, JD on intersectionality (what it is and what it isn’t) and how it can inform how we move through the world, and the organizations of which we are a part.

What is the Junior League? The Junior League of Fort Collins is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. We are roll up our sleeves and make a difference women, with programs like our Career Closet that provides work- and school-appropriate clothing for hundreds of women annually at no cost to them, and our Hunger Initiative partnership with the Food Bank of Larimer County that delivers more than 100,000 snacks to disadvantaged kids. While each of our members comes from a different background, we share a common motivation to give back to the community. We identify local issues, create projects to impact those who need help and use our collective skills, partnerships, and collaborations to implement those projects.
How does this event benefit the community? Our second annual Women’s Conference is a double whammy! First, you’ll receive the benefit as an attendee, hopefully walking away feeling uplifted, inspired and with tools to help you be your best. Additionally, all proceeds raised through the event – including sponsorships, ticket sales, donations and t-shirt revenue – support the Junior League of Fort Collins and our programs to help women and children in our community.
Who can attend? We invite anyone in the community who identifies as a woman to join us in person at this years event! You do not need to be an entrepreneur or own your own business, this conference is open to all women! Due to the nature of this event we ask that men who wish to attend do so via the digital only ticket option.
What if I can’t attend in person? No problem! Our goal is to reach as many women as possible and so we are offering a virtual ticket this year as well! This virtual ticket will include recordings of the day’s events as well as the library of pre recorded speakers. Virtual tickets benefit the Junior League of Fort Collins and our signature Career Closet and Hunger Initiative programs.
When can I expect the prerecord and day of speaker downloads in my email box? Our team of volunteers will be working as hard as possible to upload and prepare the recordings and prerecords as quickly as possible. We expect to have all recordings available no later than three weeks after the event. (We hope to have them sooner!)
What’s this t-shirt thing? Look good, feel good, right? As an added element of the event, we’ve created a fundraiser with Bonfire to offer some great leadership swag. No purchase is necessary to participate in the event.

I no longer can attend the event, but I already purchased my ticket, what is your refund policy? Refund requests for the in-person portion of the event must be submitted by March 28 th , 2022. No refunds will be processed after this date but remember, you will still get access to the videos of all of our amazing presenters! Due to the nature of the digital attendance tickets we are unable to issue refunds.
